Guys! i ve played this game for a while and i just wonder one thing, dont know if any of yal have same felling like me?! wEL consider im a noob (2nd lieut) but i can match some captain and major and fight a gg with them no problem, but the thing that i see is :It is more fun to play with the rank of player from 2nd lieut to major .. Why?! ok, Yesterday i entered a game which is all colonels and up, the game was 4v4 , they about to boot me but lucky then there is another 2nd lieut got in and they would let we both play so it d be even....i was  so exited becuz i think there is a lot of new strats i could learn......but guys, it was so bore becuz when u play with high rank in team game, it is nearly u ll never can get spies cuz they all max pop really quick and spies is around 35_45 k gold lol, the only way to get spies is u have to play french which is not alllowed in high rank team games. And since u dont have spies , fighting is only one way ahead, no tricky, no sneaking, no surrounding , no helping your mates and sadly that u (and ur opponents) mostly can even touch to your main walls... We played like that, one of us fighting straight ahead with each on of them until any of us (or theirs) cant hold the eco and .....GG, heheheh,,And guys, if u can play well every civil and micro good every unit in the army,manage ff base and walls wells while fighting, hot keys ur base and units, im sure that u can play any high rank team game out there, i downloaded some replays from TRTCLAN.com and watch, they r same thing,but if the high rank players play 1v1 game, here are the time their skills showed, they r so good with 1v1 games.

that has nothing to do with rank, its just about 4v4 there are 4 players population x 75 gold per pop....making 60k if they all max pop.

if it was 2v2, or 1v1 they could easily get it.... the issue is that 4v4 is stupid. 

btw if spies only costs 35k-45k, then they didn't max pop yet. it is ususally a good idea to do that since it makes them have to spend more and they might not be able to afford spies base on how many ppl are in the game. 

spies is a waste of coin. if your opponent gets it its either cause you were a idiot and didnt max your army soon enough, or he was a idiot and blew coin on it. if you cant fight without spies i feel sorry for you

this is treaty, in 40min treaty you have enough you can easily max out your army, get all upgrades, and get spies, in adition to many other things, the only thing u usually can't get is all the upgrades before the treaty timer is up.

With China, I can get all unit upgrades and all HC unit upgrades at 30 minutes. The trick is to use Gift of Confucious, I love that card.

Spies is a waste of coin in 3v3 and 4v4 games because it cost so much. In a 1v1 game it would be cheaper, making it quite benficial. In a 1v1 game spies can mean winning or losing. The only civs that can afford to waste 40k coin are the french, but I do not recomend it..

 

In most "High ranked" games people dont get spies anyway...Simply because when you verse off against other high ranks the game could last a long time, and that 40k or 20k or 60k gold could end up hurting you ALOT.

The fact you find a game with spies more interesting than a game without them is interesting though...I dont see how that is? Surely not knowing where they are makes the game more interesting rather than less?

I love spies and I love high ranker games!

I usually can afford spies... They don't seem to cost me that much - 5k and I can easily spare it and it gives me an idea of counter units before then time end so I go and own the oppositions army without losing much.

Spies is waste of coin... scout the map and u have it why waste 40 k gold on seing what units ur enemy makes? it's useless only good if u get it like before 20 min when it's cheap. Besides the game is won by the person who manages his eco and military force the best.

SO act fast and ur opponent will lose... It's a mind game after all

one game i played 3v3 we all contributed coin to each of our friends so all of us could get spies

this was vanilla with no rush 60 i believe spies essential to winning
