    Subject: An Ottoman guide

The Ottomans have always had ups and downs ever since vanilla came out, they had some OP days when abus had 40 range, but later they were ripped off to rely on crates and trade routes, however, a new era for the Ottomans has begun...

    THE SUBLIME PORTE

The Ottomans have always had a fragile economy because of auto-spawning settlers, in the last patch the well-known 'Silk Road rush' gave them economy, but now the viable option is the 'Sublime Porte' sublime porte, this is an age 1 card that converts all of your food to 25% more wood. This card is sent as the second card of the game after [3 settlers] obviously and it sacrifices your first age 2 card time until later on, but for a very good economy. Here is a picture to illustrate my point ( this is in a game against the comp. just to show you ).

    sublime porte garph

    The cards:

covered wagon Covered wagon - useful in age 3 to have a better eco economic theory Economic theory - nice card in age 1 to help with eco any time factory Factory - duh food Food crates - only 700f galley 2 Galleys - to take out the opponents water system very swiftlygreat bombard GB - nice age 4 card irregulars Irregulars - rarely used card, only used in the 'Apache/Abus semi-FF' janissary Janissary cards - both 5 jans in age 2 and 8 jans in age 3, very nice cards janissary combat Jan combat - to make your already strong musketeers even stronger! light artillery hp Light artillery hp - VERY good card as there are hardly any Ottoman unit upgrades in age 2 palace intrigue Palace Intrigue - a mosque is built in every Ottoman game, so it's a useful card mid-late game refrigeration Refrigeration - more eco boost rendering plant Rendering plant - good for a fish boom robber barons Robber Barons ( factory ) - duh once again royal mint Royal Mint - Nice eco boost schooners Schooners - probably needed for a fish boom team artillery hp  Team artillery hp - another age 2 upgrade atrillery attack Artillery attack - another age 2 upgrade wood Wood crates - 700w only settler Settlers - 3 obviously, 4 as well for more eco cavalry combat Cavalry combat - very nice age 3 upgrade coin Coin crates - 700c and 600c spahi Spahi - There is just no Ottoman deck without these guyssublime porte Sublime Porte - this guide is based on this card mamelukes Mamelukes - Monsters that can reach 1667 hp with the Cavalry combat card..'nuff said fish market Fish Market - useful for a fish boom falconet 2 falcs in age 3, good card

Now enough about the cards, now we get to the juicy bit - The strats:

    Ottoman 2 TP Colonial warfare - Ottoman Apache/Abus semi-FF - Ottoman Janissary/Abus fishboom - Ottoman 3 hussar Cree/Janissary rush - Ottoman Huron/Janissary fishboom - Ottoman Jesuit/Abus fishboom - Ottoman mosque semi-FF - Ottoman Spahi semi-FF

Ok, the strats are gonna very vague, but it's late so i'll edit it later. =P

Standard discovery + Early colonial: 1st card 3 settlers. 4 to hunts, set waypoint to hunts, 2 to crates, i builds mosque, then research millet system and build a house, send another settler to start herding animals back to TC. Age-up with Quartermaster - UNLESS you are doing spahi semi-FF. 2nd card arrives 20-40 secs into colonial ( Sublime Porte ) by the time it arrives you'll have a minumum of 1200 food - practice for this. If you aged up with the Quartermaster, then send 2 vills to those crates and build your military building asap.

2 TP colonial - make 2 tradeposts, research stagecoach, build barracks and foundry and market - research hunting dogs and placer mines. You will have 475 wood left. Send 5 jans or 700c as 3rd card.

Apache/abus semi-FF - make Apache TP, research 'Apache cactus use', make foundry, make 2 TP's research stagecoach, TP's to coin, make apache + abus, keep apache alive, send 700c as 3rd card to age-up, when in fortress research 'raiders' and send Cav.comb and then [Irregulars]. u will have 500w left.

Jan-Abus fishboom - same as 2 TP colonial, just send schooners as 3rd card and instead of 700w on TPs and stagecoach, use it on two docks and 'abassid market' upgrade in mosque, use rest of your wood on fishing boats when schooners arrive. I usually send [2 Galleys] as 3rd card to kill him on the water.

3 hussar Cree/Jan rush - same as 2 TP colonial, just instead of 1225w on foundry, 2 TPs and stagecoach and market + upgrades, research abassid market, make TP, make 13 cree (1040w), send 3 hussars as 3rd card, research tanning, start coureur production after cree are made. 160w left.

Huron-Jan fishboom - build rax, build TP, make 10 huron (500w), make 2 docks, research 'huron fish wedding', research 'abassid market', 225w left, send schooners to start booming on water. I usually send [2 Galleys] as 3rd card to kill him on the water.

Jesuit-Abus fishboom, not a very strong boom - make foundry, dock, TP, 12 Jesuits (1020w), 130w left, send schoonersto start booming on water. Research 'smokeless powder' when u can (abus benefit GREATLY from this) - with this tech abus can have 58 attack in colonial (with artillery attack) that's 58 against other RI, and 87 against HI. I usually send [2 Galleys] as 3rd card to kill him on the water.

Mosque semi-FF, make some jans to defend if u need to, send mm if u need to, 3rd card 700c, 4th Palace Intrigue, make a barracks, 2 TPs + Stagecoach, set TPs to wood, have 1200 wood by the time u age up. Research Tufanci corps from mosque when u age up and send 2 falcs, then research veteran janissaries and start making them. the tufanci corps should arrive at 8 mins. Practice. (age up with exile prince).

Spahi semi-FF, make jans to defend if u need to, send mm if u need to, 3rd card 700c, age up with philosopher prince and then exile prince, make 2 TPs and stagecoach, build an outpost near your furthest hunts, make a barracks and research veteran janissaries, send 5 spahi once in fortress, they should arrive at 8 mins. practice. follow up with [2 falcs], [5 mams], [cav combat], [3 spahi], [8 jans]...

~NEW~ 3TC FF, standard early colonial, just send 700c as 3rd card, age-up with the exile prince, while aging send MM if you have to, make an outpost near your furthest hunts if u need to (also useful for exp), instead of building 2TPs and stagecoach, keep 600w for fortress, when in fortress, send [covered wagon] and build a TC with your explorer. Now your opponent will have to face a booming otto in fortress - not a good situation for him..=P

Sorry for so vague guides, but i really didn't have much time, after i finish editing this one, i'll hopefully post a Sioux one. Cheers fellow Otto players and GL :P.

    Good guide. Nice cards

(Though cards are a bit un-even. they aren't quite in a straight line.)

Once again, it's great lol. I was exaggerating with the 5 stars, i can't really rate it since I haven't even tried it out yet. I'll try it out today, and give a proper review.
