I have always done the wood trickle as my first card when playing Russia.  I was just wondering if perhaps 300 food or 300 wood might be a better card to enhance ones rush time.  Please give me advice on the first card to use and also what time you can attack with lets say the standard 33 strelets or 20 strelets 5 cossacks combo.  Also give your times for maps without any extra starting resources please.

Wood trickle beats any other card as first card, by age 2 you'll easily have gotten 150-250 wood from that alone. So enough to be worthy the 300 wood card by then.

As for rush, i'd say 20 strelets 9 cossacks or 33 strelets 5 cossacks, 13 strelets 10 musketeers 5 cossacks depending what i expect the enemy to make by 6-6:30 on a standard crate setup map.

I would go for 300 food, and immediately pressure in colonial, 5:30 is a good time to start pressuring IMO, check out Milos no villager Russian rush

Thanks again for the advice.  I added the 300 food card to my deck and it really makes a difference!!!  First I send the wood trickle then the 300 food as I age.  Am I doing this backwards should i first send the 300 food then the wood trickle.  I was thinking that I would get more wood the earlier I send the card for strelets houses and the blockhouse.  On the other hand I can see that aging up faster might be a better option.  Every really good Russian player I have seen play or talk to seems to send the wood trickle card first.  Does anyone disagree and think 300 food is better first?

really depends on what civ your facing, if your up against an ottoman player to say, then i would ship the 300 food card, then followed by the 13 strelet card immediately after age up while making a few muskets in case the other player sends a cav shipment

Normally you get shipment 2 right before you're going to age (if u age with 14 villies). So i'd advice using that for unit shipments in age 2 instead of 300 food. The boost you get for the shipment is minor. If you get that first, you'll indeed age sooner, but you'll have your blockhouse up later.

go for 300 food for a fast age up, send 13 strelets first, or maybe 5 cossacks if needed, and youll want to pressure early with 23 strelets, or 13 strelets and 5 cossacks, and keep sending whatevers needed, and pull back if needed

300 food for a shipment rush, but wood trickle/300 wood if you intend to do some actual battle in colonial. Cause without a Blockhouse, once your shipments run out, you're screwed....

you gather wood during age up, and build a blockhouse normally before you hit colonial (start building it that is)
