The Netherlands Vs the Japanese
Hello,
Unsurprisingly, I'm another player who's getting frustrated with playing the Japanese and never really being able to beat them in rushes. I am pretty good as the Dutch. Some of my thoughts include; shipping advanced arsenal to handle with infantry, and somehow destroying those shrines. I would appreciate it if others could post their advice.

I agree that Dutch are not very good against Japanese. Probably because of the ashigaru+naginata combination. Dutch skirmishers can not use hit and run against ashigarus as easily as against musketeers while naginatas counter them much better than hussars.
I don't think Germany would be good either, since they have difficulty with ashigarus+naginatas too. Russians or British would probably be the best against Japanese.
A person with good tactics can never defeat a person who knows the principles of tactics.

A pike skirm will still do alright vs ashigaru if you set the pike to cover mode as a meatshield and hide your skirks behind them, but it would be really hard to cover your skirms from the Naginata, and it would take ridiculous microing. You must rush Japan hard and raid their shrines, I find a good German rush with 2 uhlans 14 bows and 5 pikes works if you can pull it off quickly enough. Or do what I do, dont play japan. And DO NOT use china against Japan as a pure Ashi spam will eat china up until the fortress age.

Dutch = Defensive civ.
Mass-produce Halberds and Musketeers, possibly hussars, and when they attack destroy their army. Then, they are left defenceless.
Now attack, and crush them!! Destroy shrines 1st if you can, and kill all villies - then they can't do anything if your attack fails (which it wont, if your any good).
Also destroy TCs.
Other buildings can wait.
Too busy running an empire to play, my secretary will give you a game.

Incy...est-ce qu'il fonctionne aussi avec un jeu allemand, le fanpatch? J'ai TAD maintenant mais il est en allemand (j'avais la choix entre la version allemande et française lol, pourtant on peut PAS acheter TAD en anglais en suisse... merde)... Je l'ai pas encore installé car apparement ça marche pas avec mon Aoe+TWC en anglais.. .faudrait tout reinstaller... en tout cas je dois bricoler qqchose là putin

Meh it doesn't matter to me , I can speak a minimal amout of french, but just enough to understand what you said.
If you opponents are dumb enough to let you get to the fortress age, with the right strategy, you have pretty much won. I would watch out when facing the japanese tho. ashi+ nagi and a little bit of yumi will rip you to shreads.

En théorie ça marche avec toutes les versions, mais si ton Vanilla/TWC sont en anglais et ton TAD allemand je ne vois pas vraiment ce que tu peut faire. O_O Toutes mes versions sont françaises, j'ai jamais su comment se démerder pour ça. :/ Essaye agesanc pour voir, peutetre t'aurais qqchose
