I have heard that this is quite a good strat and have tried it a few times but didnt turn out as well as i was hoping.

I would like quite a detailed guide about what you do, including a build order and list of cards required etc.

I have seen different people suggesting different things like shipping ATP first and building a couple of TPs, shipping vils first to age up faster...


Also, i was wondering whether Ottomans have a good FF or not.

im a noob, but this has around a 60-75% win rate online for me, and 100% succsess vs. comps.

get vills as fast as is possible, you need them. once you age, build a outpost as close to them as possible and have it recieve shipments. send more outposts from city to save wood, build 2 of barracks, stables, and artillery buildings. While doing this, get much more food and coin., you dont need much wood after this, so you can focus the other resorces. this should all be done in ten min or less. Then, get around 10-15 calvery units, and raid vills. while you do this, make 30 janns and mix with 20 abus. If you have enough resorces, some grens after their def is destroyed speed up destruction.

When you hit lvl25, battle feild construction is a good card to get as it frees vill from having to build, instead you can send some janns from hc and use them to build the barracks, stables, and artillery foundries.

finnaly, get the obvious good eco shipments, you wont need anything envolving farms, but also get the good exchange at market card and any thing that speeds food and coin gathering is a must.

i know roughly what to do with them as, essentially, a rush is a rush no matter what civ. i just wanted a card send order etc.

 

and freak, that is far too slow. to only start building units at 10 is not really a rush.

it may be slow, but as i stated) 1: im a noob. 2) it works for me. 3) i didnt say you had to like it. i just gave a suggestion for you to build off of.

I have about 72% win with ottos but don't play them anymore.

 

If you are noob playing noobs then a simple Jan rush should be sufficient.

 This is what I would do:

 

Age 1:

 

Straight away put 5 villies on hunts. Herd the hunts TOWARD your TC.

Use 1 villie to collect crates, leave the gold one alone until you age (saves time)

Build house

Use villie that built house to herd in a distant group of hunts. Just give them a shot them towards your TC every now and again. I like to imagine I'm actually playing a farming game when I do this.

Send 3 villie card

Go to age 2 when you hit 800 food. Age up with 400 wood politician.

As soon as you click age: 3-4 villies on gold (remembering to collect those gold crates now), rest on food and send 2 to some hunts near a mine in the mid-map (you should pick out a good spot early in the game).

 

Age 2

 

Once you hit age 2 use a gold and a food villie to pick up the wood and build a barracks at your forward base immediately. Send 5 Jan card and set your TC military gather point to your forward base so they walk there automatically. Build Jans and houses.

 Once you have 15 jans it's time to attack. Do not leave it any later because this is where you have the edge. While you are attacking keep building jans and set your barracks waypoint to whereever your jans are at that moment. Keep doing this. Its good if you set your barracks to a team/group using ctrl + 1-9.

If your enemy has units that own your jans, you need to build counters immediately. Your safest option is abus because jan + abus counter most things in age 2. If you are going to produce abus continually, make the correct villie assignments 2:1 gold:food. Send 700 wood to buid artilery foundary and houses.

 If you have spare wood, put up outposts to keep your villies safe.

 

2 important things to have in mind when playing rush ottos:

 1. Keep your villies safe.

2. Attack early and never stop attacking unless you are being overpowered. In which case, retreat and reform with your counter units. 

  

If the game is getting longer, you need to focus more on eco and defence.

i put 10 min or less by the way because it can work at ten min, but after that it has failed.

I gave him advice, by telling him not to use the other dude's advice, since it sucked.

thats not advice, thats criticizem. it also starts flame wars. please try and help the person. if you have a better strat with useful tips and info, share it and i will gladly take the sdvise. but if you arnt going to help, why post?

dont have to worry about it anymore, did a few practise games against the comp and worked out a pretty good strat. no need to flame each other anymore ;)
