I was playing with germany the other day and i had a big doubt with their eco. I know that theireco is one of the best in AOE3 but the problem is that if I get 99 workers and 20 sw ill have 61 pop left. Should I stay with a fuccing good eco until the end of the game but with little pop or kill like 40 vills and stay with 100 pop so i can defend and attack at same time?

And btw if 1 of u have a nice german strat u can post here (treaty only)

There are 2 strategies:

1 - Allbinx's strategy Hold out for as long as you can with your small army, try to build as many walls as possible and maintain that economic advantage.

2 - Aggressive strategy Delete 40 settlers, keep uhlans, train dopplesoldners, send ze church card and send zhweihanders to get around 224/200. Use the large force to seize control and establish a forward base near the enemy town.

You should do a combination of both the above strategies. When the treaty ends, hold out as long as you can with your smaller army. When you are struggling too much for comfort delete 40setlers(20 sw gather faster than 40 villagers since all upgrades are on the BASE stats of the gatherer and sw have double the base stats + they also get a card that upgrades _35% to all gathering rates)

Or alternativly, if you can read (which I'm going to assume you can, scroll down the page because there are 3 german eco threads on the 1st page of treaty alone. 

What I do is just forget about the wagons, they cost 2 pop but only gather as fast as about 1.5 settlers, and you need an age 4 card just to make them worth the 2 pop that they each take up, so what's the point in making more? Just keep the 3 you get at the beginning, and max out your regular settler pop. I still have a powerhouse of an economy every time, have everything FU by the end of treaty, and have over 90 pop for military units.

get maxed out villies till 5 min before treaty ends. delete 39 of them (or 40+ if you have stockpilled 70k + resources just to be safe)

then attack.

or try to hold out with 60 pop.
