    Subject: Age of Empires 1: anyone still play it?

    Hey all,

    I still play aoe1 over the LAN with my friends and love it. Does anyone still play age1 online anymore, and if so, where? Also, if anyone has any tips or tricks that might be useful, feel free to mention them.

    I recomend Game Ranger to play online AoE1

    Loved this game!  I would get up early to play it before I went to school most mornings about 7-8 years ago...

    So sad, I believe the Age of Empires series is on the decline...

    The thing that keeps me away from that ancient game is the 50 max pop.

    I would very much love to play this AOE 1 with my son, but for the life of me I cant get it to work on a LAN - can anyone give me some help as to why not?

     

    I have tried using Gameranger, but it throws the other computer off as it is logging into the game.

    Update the game both of you and allow it in your firewall.

    Age of Empires 1 is funSmile... but my sister broke the cd it´s in two parts nowSad... but i think i will buy it 59 kr is nothing (59 kr = 8,18 $)

    I have the 1.0c update installed on both computers, and they are connected at both LAN ports with a cable, but when I create a game the other computer doesnt see it. What am I doing wrong or what can I do to make it work?

    If you are using the same GameRanger account on both computers, that will happen.

    On one of the computers, uninstall GameRanger and make sure you click the checkbox to remove account settings. Then install it again, and create a new account.

    Try using a D-link 9-pin serial cable. That how i do  it with my friends
