Hi Everyone,

 I just wanted to let everyone know that due to some Hardware Failures ESO1 & ESO2 will come down for a much longer than normal period of time on February 26th & 27th.

A load balancer and a firewall have been causing problems, as well as a some memory failed, so we are doing a major overhaul of the hardware to make sure you guys can keep on playing.

The approximate downtimes will be 1am to 4am February 26th CST (GMT - 6).

If it runs longer, we will likely make an update later that morning, but we wanted to give everyone a heads up and to let you know the servers aren't coming down permanently!

Lethe, can you put the fan patch files in place of existing ES 1.01a executable?

It would be an extremely bad idea to "officialize" a fan-based patch that was put together by non-ES/MS employees and is played only by a relatively small percentage of the online gaming community. Not to mention that when I installed it to test it it crashed my system, necessitating a complete registry overhaul and reinstallation of the game. 

Metis, did you check with Viper/etc staff at agesanctuary about that?

(letting him know you use xp/vista, what language - don't want to assume English, did you install in default c:\program files\... directory or somewhere else, etc to narrow down and solve the problem)

I remember installing a patch for original age3 and it screwed up for some reason so there may be some variable that was missed or a glitch on installation.

That means that you prefer official crap to high quality third-party work.

making third part patches manditory is not in everyones best interests as they usually are based on a minority veiw on how to make the game better not the whole community. It would simply kill the game!

However you may disagree with balance, it fixes a shitload of bugs.
