Lol asians are excelent in treaty. I would say natives and ottomans are hardest, maybe except aztecs with 32k hp wall

Given that I haven't played TWC that much, I would say Germans are fairly hard to use since they have low XP trickle and thus require more planning (but also more flexibility) when playing. You get used to it with a lot of practice though. Other than them I find the Chinese to be a bit difficult due to their banner armies: it's hard to get one specific unit to counter an enemy.
Overall, it's hard to say. Usually it varies from person to person because of different styles, so the most difficult civ to play is the one most opposite to your favourite strategies.

Aztec are weak militarily, doesn't necessarily make them hard to play, just because their units don't stack up well compared to many civilisations. I'd say Iroquois, their army requires a lot of practice, coping with their shitty pop to maintain war dance is hard against Euro civilisations, their boom is the most attention-demanding due to cowing (the farms don't fscking help in this), wood cutting, the timing of certain elements, etc.

I find aztecs harder than iroquois, but WHATEVER. Also, if their units don't stack up well, doesn't that make them harder to win with?

andrew_ingram_aka(blade19): Ok so hands down its sioux tepee mangement and wall management its impossible if your a vet then sioux can be unstoppable but its near impossible to use right and it hardly ever mastered its the jackie chan of AOE deadly but take alot of training
