    Mostly rods . . . beat all russian inf and cav. gg. 

    once get in close they kill musks, more hp same attack and .40 hr. good speed too.

    Keeps training STRELETS? What problems are you having then? Aim for Lancers and wipe him off the map. Before then get rods out as the other guy said and fight him in colonial. Don't stop villager training, ever, and keep scouting him with one rodelero.

    If he's training various units, counter them accordingly, still by scouting with rods to see what he's doing.

    Just remember ! Cavalry is the best counter to strelets. Get a shipment of Lancers and continue creating them. And being Spain you get shipments more quickly so there should be no problem.

    Just remember ! Cavalry is the best counter to strelets. Get a shipment of Lancers and continue creating them. And being Spain you get shipments more quickly so there should be no problem.   

     

    FF and send Lancers. 

    Lancers counter everything Russia has... seriously. Even their cav is relatively weak. If he starts massing Cav just spam a few Rods and keep Lancers around.

    Right ! I forgot that Lancers can only be trained/shipped if you are in Age III or up. Before that Hussars would do well too against Strelets.

    Russia will get ur TC to about 3/4 by the time u age up, maybe more if he sends muskies, idk exact amount.

     

    Ship 7 rods during colonial

     

    First fortress card 5 lancers

     

    5 lancer + MM + 7 rod + 5 dogs + explorer > howevermany strelets + 9 cossacks

     

    Hence, Spain > every civ in the game on Vanilla.

    Exactly.. In age2 you should have at least 1 tower, and a spare shipment to spend.. So scout what he's making and send a shipment to counter it. Even if he does rush you he shouldn't be able to drop your TC before your first set of lancers arrive.

    Well, assuming you have a Tower, and a TC, and enough resources for minutemen.. Send a Rodeleros shipment, and send your minutemen at the same time as your Rodeleros show up, so that you have that much more firepower bearing down on him. A lot of times thats all it will take to stuff his rush.

    But otherwise, 2 things

    1. Cancel your age and use the resources to quickly pump some units (hussars/rods?)

    2. Continue with your age, and hope to hell you hit 3 and can get some shipments out before he drops anything important (IE - TC)

    Lances cut through strelets like oprichinks through unguarded vils.  I think that honestly 5 veteran lancers could beat 50 strelets.
