    Subject: Ottoman boom.. (non-water)

    Tips?

I always seem to fall behind, I usually fortress around minute 10-12 depending on the situation, and get all 3 tc's up before minute 15.

    any tips would help...

well your villagers train slower so it makes sense that you fall behind on villager production.

The main advantage is that you don't pay for vills so you can put the extra resources into military production. Get mosque speed upgrades ASAP and put down your 3 TCs ASAP also to try and get a good eco. Trade posts also help quite a bit (and fishing boats but you're talking about land map)

Every boom you do weakens your rush. In team games send 3 vills then 4 vills. Use the church to even yourself up with other civs. Don't lose settlers, get a market and research great coat and everything else. Harass your opponent. Making him garrison every ten seconds means he's losing lots of villager seconds.

And on Nilla, team silk road gives +30% to crates and to resources from a trading post. (minor help). If you get a TP up first you can get 3 villagers out sooner. If you get a church up first you can get millet systems first but will slow down colonial time.

If you plan to not attack for 10 minutes; choose a different civ.

The 30% on vanilla isn't minor, why do you think they nerfed it?

I would not boom as Otto's until you have mastered both the abus gun and jan rush. Then slowly incorporate a boom into your rush until you find a good medium for yourself.

My noobbashing friend does this OP otto strat with a great jan rush with 5 abus in the back and then FF's at 12 min. Usually gets him good wins. I myself have found a great medium for both dutch and souix.
