    Subject: installing aoe3 and TWC on windows 7
    ok well first i tried installing aoe3, and it worked fine. next i put in TWC CD and got a message that aoe3 wasn't installed for all users (odd considering I'm the only user). so i uninstalled aoe3 and reinstalled it. i made sure to go to the disc and run "setup.exe" as administrator and install to C:Program files (x86):Microsoft Games: age of empires 3..., but no dice. exactly the same prob as before.

    the exact error message is:

    "Age of Empires III was not installed for ALLusers or the current user. Please log in with correct account. This setup will exit."

    the "Allusers" is one word in the error message

    Im guessing that "strat" is called south sea bubble? who came up with that? and why the f* is it called south sea bubble?

    I would google "was not installed for ALLusers or the current user. Please log in with correct account. This setup will exit." and "windows 7"

     

    Make sure aoe was uninstalled completely, and then did you reboot too? It sounds like something is wrong with user settings or privileges.

    just right click the emblem then properties/run as administrator. also, to be safe, restart the comp every install then patch. then try the above suggestion.

     another problem from long time ago, was if you still have residual files folders problems with new installs happened.

    if youve uninstalled everything go to mydocuments/mygames........delete all aoe3 folders.

    then go to HDD c/programfiles/microsoftgames and do the same.

    reinstall as admin and restart and patch along the way.  twc patch is not needed, just install TAD.......restart.
