Russian Treaty Strat
I usually play russians right now. I used to play dutch, but just couldn't win very much because of those darn OP civs (especially japanese and french). personally i dont think russia is very OP(feel free to disagree). I think over powered civs are the ones that can spam one unit to win without strategy. Japanese ashigarus/hatamotos and French genedarms. Russia has to use a combonation of units to win.
anyway my russian strategy is very similar to Gitzcos so ill let him explain it:
Gitzco:
Sorry to put u2 down, but neither of these stratagies are too good. 1300 is a very low score, and i believe that your problem is most likely your aging times/maxing out vills. At 40 minutes, i NEVER have under a 2000 score with my russians. I have come by very few people who can compete with my russian eco at 40 minutes. The main reason that people have diffuculty geeting a good eco with them is their villie production.
This is the first time i am writing about my russsain strat at all, so if you dont believe me ask any good player about my russians.
ANway,
Age 1 make 26 vills befor u age. I understand that you can age way before that, but it serves no purpose, aside form slowing you down form booming. All vills u start wiht go to food after collecting starting eco. First 3 made go to food also. Next 3 to gold, next 3 to wood, 3 to food, next 6 to gold, last 3 to food. this gives 14 on food, 9 on gold, and 3 on wood. The 3 on wood should cut 100 by the time u need a house. When u are aging, take 3 off gold and pt to wood, and send the wood card to age. When u hit age 2, u should immedietlly age to 3 and send sevestapool at the same time. When u hit age 3, u should have enouh wood to make your 3 tc's and have pleanty of food to spam 9 vills at a time. U sually first 9 go to food also, so i can keep making vills. The rest depends on map and resources needed at time. Get market upgrades asap. Hit industrial with 27-26 minutes left in treaty (at least), Imperial with 23-22(at least). Many maps differ and some are slower than others, but russain have a great boom if done this way and you max out vills fast.
_gitzco
i use this strategy because it seems to work fairly well and most good russian players i see use it or something like it. i have a few variations on this, but nothing very big. for example i usually put an extra 3 vills on wood in first age, and other little things that i dont think make much of a difference.
anyway my problem is that i can never seem to get a score of 2000. i usually idle around the 1500s at the 40min mark. sometimes i can get up to 1700s, but never 2000. i cant figure out what im doing wrong. any help is apreciated. constructive criticism if fine, but please no posts like "NOOB stop playing russians" or whatever. be helpful please.
aloysius-im banned until 2162 again. it says its for "attacking other forum members". i havent attacked any other forum members seriously. i have attacked members IDEAS, not members themselves. also since when does this get you perm banned? please respond

Re: Russian Treaty Strat
It would have to be a couple of things you may be neglecting. idle villigers, especially once u have yr 3 TCs so be attentive to those. Eco upgrades get them asap, and your choice of eco cards from homecity. an idea is to save shipments for the eco cards from age3 because by then yr still gathering from mines and hunts and just begining to make yr farms, then after you get your factories, then get the rest of yr eco cards from age2 and age1. When these shipments have arrivd most of your villigers are assigned to plantaions and mills so they will be rolling in the resources.

Re: Russian Treaty Strat
Hidan’s advice is sound. I might add that you should consider livestock too. After not being to get much above 2000 in several games I finally tried livestock and found that it added a couple of hundred points to my score. Better yet it raised my food reserves considerably and allowed more settlers on wood. Remember that Russia is a food-hungry civ and wood-hungry too if you decide to go the Strelet-cannon route.
Here is a test where I scored a fairly decent 2200 with livestock, ending up at 40 with a nice 70:40 food-gold resource distribution. Because the map had little wood (those two groups of trees you see on the mini map are gone) you can see that I'm starting the fight with little wood. However, everything is upgraded Imperial except for Grenadiers. I also have all of the advanced aresenal upgrades.

In anticipation that SavoryBeef or someone else in TRT will come in here saying that only noobs score 2200 with Russians in a 40, let me post the scores from an all_russia game of theirs:

Re: Russian Treaty Strat
savorybeef:you can go to my elo or agecomm and check my percentage of games using russia, it will be a 0%. this game was unrated and my first and only time using russia. that being said my advice on saying a 20-23 vill age 1 followed by going straight through age 2 to 3 then 3 tc booming is a generally good strat with very little room to mess anything up. anyone can break 2k with this which is pretty fine with russia. i wouldnt reccommend using my complete boom as a template because i dont use russia ever and my eco distribution ended up a mess, i would go look at _pi's russia boom under the treaty 40 booming competition on the trt site because that is probably the best russian boom that can be accomplished.
Metis can see the future, he knew this post would come.

Metis:
yay i feel famous AHAHHA i do recommend you to watch mine...its on andes, uses TP and is on slow speed i recommend _pi's if u want one without trade post sorry to brag but seriously ur score of 1500 is deplorable i got a score 1200 MORE than you tips: i used to get an average of 1600 before i used to have 29 vills
i recommend 20 vills age 1. i tried 26 i got score of 2200 also another buster like they said, dont use land grab. since russia military WEAK get ALL the unit upgrades mill/plantation upgrades are a must also a new trick i discovered (when i jumped from 1600-1800) was get mercantalism as fast as you can and send all the factory/mill/plantation upgrades (more advantageous earlier sent) lastly, i used to send try to send half vills at age 3 and rest at 4 and 5 but then i decided to max boom at age 3 and send all 99 and then my score really reached top score 2742 also u know how i got good??? i practiced on a map without TP and without much animals/food ozarks! my fave map...i played there and averaged 1800-1900 then my first time on andes i got 2150 with all the extra food :p 2 games i won i had a score of 1600 at 40 both times (i didnt mess up) its just my eco got slowed down cuz since it wasnt half map i sent orpchies at his walls and won the same way 2 games :p use russia church card and train max army pop of 270 by 40 25 on mills 50 on plantations rest on wood, factories on wood --> good eco! (finish all natural resoucres first) basic tips good luck (by the way to the poster, if u use that guys strat correctly u should get 1800-1900 easy, i think ur deck is the problem (confession: i used his strat before to improve)
