countering jags
what counters jaguar prowl knights. usually against heavy inf i go skirms with a musk meatshield. jags have a 2x bonus vs light inf and cav and a 3x bonus vs heavy inf. they basically counter everything, and they are one population room, have great siege, and are stealthy. horse guns work decent in treaty but if they mix in arrow kinghts then they are dead

oh really? so they don't have a bonus against them. thats nice. however when jags get in among skirms they still decimate them

ok. i played against them as brits so i got screwed becasue i ran out of wood for longbows and they beat musk. i went to grenadiers but they are only alright

grenadiers are heavy inf , jpk have bonus against them , DONT use them against jpk , ski and archers are all that can counter them , just try to fight at range ,
tip= mass ski (add a little musk) destroy aztec

What i realized the other day is that jags are basically the same as rifle riders but in melee form. Im not sure if ranged cav still beats jags but with a bit of hit n run it shouldnt be hard but yeah skirms kill them easily from range

The answer is StrategicJoeL he counters every unit through OP trolling, which makes your army lose morale. but seriously skirmishers/cassadors are supposed to kill (archers if no skirmisher) and use natives as meatshield.

If you're losing to mass jags with skirms, then its no different than losing to mass halbs with skirms. Essentially thats what jags are, halbs with a bonus vs heavy inf. They aren't that good. The only thing I could come up with is that people are messing up their unit making, eg falling below 200/200 to often. Keep spaming skirms and you will win in a matter of mins.

i lost with longbows... i was brits. it was unrated game vs new clan guy i knew it was bad matchup of civs

after reading that i was confused. but then i went and looked at rifle riders in scenario editor. 3x bonus vs cav and heavy inf and 6x bonus vs art and ships?! they are the only ranged cav i know of that gets bonus vs inf. are they one of the best units in the game? because whenever i go against wakina+rifle rider by teepees and warchief i just get owned
