Booming means setting up a good economy so that you can get lots of resources and then make a good military

Shrine Boom means you get all the shrines fast, and have a team mate send sheep/cows to the shrines.(Works good with Portuguese consulate ally -15% wood/food cost for building~wonder food cost decreased as well) and also you need the wonder toshogoku shrine.(however its spelled)

A civ is usually "Lame" if it is overused and very easy to win with for example, with japan most players can get to industrial age by just hit-running with ashigaru musketeers, set up walls, and damiyo's to train/support units on the field.

Examples of "Laming" civs are: Iorquois big button rush, Japan ashigaru spam, india 10/10 rush. Most people say these are lame because even a conscript can win with these vs higher-ranked people.

If you put your shrines on wood at the start they will gather their own building materials, leaving your villagers free to gather resources. Remember too to build the shrines with your monks -- they build faster and you don't have to have a villager builder not gathering.

Some people leave the shrines on wood the entire boom, others change the production as needed.

To shrine boom you want, as skhsri said, to get your consulate built and put it on Port ally. You also will want to send the Age 1 shrine card as your first card -- both these will make shrines cheaper. Build the big shrine wonder as your age II build and remember when you get to age IV to get the shrine gathering upgrade -- it enhances gathering vastly.

Build near hunts wherever they can be reached if booming alone, even if this means a shrine will be right at the edge of your outer wall (if it's destroyed you can always rebuild it later).

Lame civ = a civ with the ability to rush hard and fast.

    Eg: Iroquois, India

Death will take you without a care for circumstance or timing; live life to the fullest without fear of death, or need to know why it chooses who it does - otherwise you are already dead.

No, Iro and India are lame because they can rush fast with a big army and still have a good Eco. I can rush way faster than 5 mins with any other civ, but my Eco will suck.

A lame civ is a civ that when played perfectly, they win vs almost every other civ.

Here is an example of "laming" its using a strategy that is far Superior then any other player

    http://forum.agecommunity.com/forums/thread/959262.aspx

If you were to use this strategy all the time people would call you a "spanish lamer" because the strategy you would be using is impossible to beat

some ppl refer to it as OP strategies pretty much means the same as laming only OP is takes skill to do

You haven't even tried it, but I have! it works extremely well. It's very easy to rule with this strategy, mostly because its such a strong and fast rush! and works best on maps that have extra crates like Deccan you can rush under two minutes!

It's good that you play a OP and NON OP civ... in my opinion.

But if you care about excelling in booming then don't start with iro, they are one of the hardest. Trust me 30+ hundred score is not easy.

Play what you like, but I would suggest Port (non OP) and France (OP) too start. Both fairly easy booms, France may be harder because of fur trade, but their "OP everything" makes up for it.

Remember less than half the game is booming generally, the harder part is the challenging fighting.
