So I've been frivolously working to create a viable way to use Czapka Uhlans in the game, and I've finally found a way.
*Please note this strategy would be used for a no rush match and that I don't include when to build what*
-Discovery Age-
You get into the game. Gather your resource crates and send 2 settler wagons onto food. Send the third to chop wood. Train 3 settlers. When they spawn, send 2 onto food and 1 to wood. Then wait. Once you get a shipment, use it on 2 settler wagons. When they arrive, send 1 to food and 1 to wood. Then train 3 more settlers. Again, send 2 to food and 1 to wood. Get the discovery age improvements from the market. Then wait. Once you have the resources, age up. Choose the 1 settler wagon option.
-Colonial Age-
*Your shipments now come with Uhlans. SAVE THEM*
Receive your settler wagon from the advance in age. Send him to gold. Then train 4 settlers. Send them all to gold. You should use your second card on 3 settler wagons. Send one to each resource. Train 4 more settlers. Send 2 to gold, 1 to food and 1 to wood. You should almost have another card. SAVE IT FOR THE FORTRESS AGE. Age up. Select 4 settlers and 3 Uhlans.
-Fortress Age-
Use your shipment and get the Germantown Farmers card. Use your 4 settlers to build a mill. (Only time I tell you to build something ;P) Upgrade your mill. From your market, get the upgrades for mining and wood cutting. Now you can train settler wagons from your mill. Procede to max them. I prefer to train them in twos. Send each pair to one resource. i.e 2 to food, 2 to wood, 2 to gold ect. This should get you a positive output of resources. Max your settler wagons in the third age. I always send my first pair to gold, then to wood, then food. You will already have 8 wagons from the beginning of the game and shipments. When your wagons are maxed, you will have 8 on food, 6 on wood and 4 on gold. I advise you take 2 from wood and put them on gold, at this point wood isn't as important. You should continue training settlers while training settler wagons. With regular settlers, put two on each resource. You should use your wood to build town centers. Dedicate one center to one resource. The closest to your mills should be food, the one closest to plantations would be for plantations. In this age, you should train 12 regular settlers. Put 4 on food, 4 on wood and 4 on gold. Then age up. I prefer to take the chest of gold.
-Industrial Age-
This is the age where you boom. Use your first shipment on guild artisans. This age it is also important to your shipments wisely. You're going to have to sacrifice economic upgrades for military ones. Keep in mind this strategy is useless without every single calvary upgrade you can get. Continue to train settlers, sending more to gold than food and wood. The Germans need a lot of gold to work. Especially since the Uhlan costs only 50 food but 100 gold to train. When you reach 65 settlers, stop training them. Any more is too much. Your settlers alone will take up 105/200 population. Begin to upgrade your Uhlans and War Wagons. War Wagons are important to have on stand by if the enemy trains Ryuters of Dragoons. War Wagons are the best anti-calvary calvary unit in the game. They have a ton of health and ranged attack with a x3 multiplier against calvary. Once you have ample resources, age up.
-Imperial Age-
Not much happens here besides the upgrading of units, gathering resources and sending cards. The defensive cards are the cornerstone of your strategy. Uhlans already get monster attack, so upgrading their health is the first priority. Make sure you get the Advanced Arsenal card as well. This gives your Imperial Czapkas and Imperial War wagons x3 against buildings.
Once your Imperial Czapkas are fully upgraded, they will have 475 HP, a .30 resistance to range, 48 x1.3 siege attack (which is 62.4 siege attack) and 88 (Yes, 88!) hand attack with a 0.8 multiplier against settlers.
If this fails you for whatever reason, you can always fall back on the dopps/skirmishers combo. It's very hard to beat, and quite frankly, easier. If you wish to do this, use the same economic build but put a few more settler wagons on gold. When attacking, get around 40 dopps and 1 skirmisher. Using advanced formation, put them both on defensive mode. They will then form a super tight square of destruction which your opponents can't beat. Use this to flank the enemy while sending Skirmishers on the main front. It's usually more effective in a 2vs2 or more where you can have more support on the front line. Especially the Dutch, so they can make up for your lack of front line military support.
*Please note, you may need to switch your settlers around sporadically. You can possible get too much food, too much wood, or not enough gold. In this case, put a lot of settlers on gold for a time until you get more gold than food.*
In the end of the game, I usually have around 5 settlers on wood, 35 on gold and 20 on food. Then I like to have 12 settler wagons on gold and 8 on food.
I really hope this works for you guys, post any ideas you have or any suggestions or constructive criticism. Thanks a lot!! :)
