    I was wondering in nr55 hm  is it acceptable to hide an explorer on the other side of the river and build a base late game . If not lvdr is a bad bad man. I have screen print but too dim to insert it.

    Most nr 55 minutes have a Half map rule and no war ships as well, so NO it is not acceptable to do that, that is considered cheating the rules and it is not respectful of the others players; however, there is a way to build a base on the other side and not break the rules.

    ===========================================================================

                                                 ORINOCO NR 55 HM NWS=Winning Strategy

    Step one boom to 55minutes prepare to fight.

    Step two: Build a dock

    Step three: build a fishing ship

    Not a lot of people know this super five star secret strategy, but I will continue to tell you.

    The  fishing ships can have men inside them. I know, I know, but it says you can't place men inside them since there is no enter button for them, well here is the secret to it!

    Step one for placing men inside ship: Click on your 16soldiers and 4 villagers

    Step two click on the place inside building button located on the lower right side of the screen (while focused on your men)

    Step three click to enter the fishing ship.

    All your men will now enter the fishing ship.

    Step four: cross the mighty river.

    Step five: dump the men out

    Step six: build barracks

    Step seven: spam men into your enemies town

    ========================================================================-

    That easily wins the game, just remember to use a fishing ship NOT a war ship if you use a war ship its considered cheating, and you DO NOT want to be known as a cheater (people will kick you from games and pest you)

    This OP strategy is so easy to win with I don't even play 55nr just because its practically point trading its so easy to win.

    Also note this works best with an ally so he can cover the river entrance for the moment it takes you to build the barracks and start to spam.

    The fishing boat garrison actually works, I had not seen that before. I don't think there's any actual benefit though. For your example, given the lack of fish on orinoco, you'll be called a cheater whether you use a fishing boat or a caravel to transport troops.

    No its perfectly acceptable. the rule says no war ships half map and no attacking for 55 minutes. So please explain to me how a fishing ship is a war ship?

    usually what I say when they ask me why I have 5 fishing ships is "I thought I saw a whale in the River". Also you can't be called a "cheater" if its not in the rules.

    If you want to make a "Federation matter transporter" part of the rules then you have to say "no fishing ships no war ships, half map, no attacking till 55minutes" that is the only way to stop it.

    Ever heard of the phrase "spirit of the rules". It applies here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_Tar_Incident for an example of it being used.

    games live or die by the spirit in which they are played. If you love this game play honourably. When faced by this cheap trick we could have drop tricked but that would make us as bad.

    Never mind we live to fight again.

    There is the letter of the rule and the spirit of the rule. "HM" means nothing on the other side that can build at all, and all scouts must be back before 40 minutes. "NWS" means no boats at all. If you build a dock and a native canoe or fishing boat and transport villagers to build on the other side in a 55 you may win one game -- and one game is all you will play with the NR 55 community. That is, if you even win one game -- most of the community will resign and pest you if you cheat even if you are on their team.
