Subject: What civ should I choose
Hey I've been playing AOE 3 for awhile and have finally decided to choose 1 civ to play. I like a extremely defensive one. I mean extremely defensive. More military way but no entirely focused on military. I like infantr more than cav. Have some artillery. And not too hard to get villagers.

ports are weak but if u master them and get really good with them then u will be OP with other civs

The more costeffective army can win vs a more expensive (better unit) because they can just keep throwing them at the other player.

I would advise you to learn Ports, they have the OP organ guns which are extremely defensive and OP Cass (The Best Cass in the game) they also have Royal Guard upgrade Muskets too! Plus extremely easy to get villagers! They are the most OP civ with arguably on of the best booms over all.

A major bonus with getting Villagers is with every age you get a TownCenter, so you get a Towncenter one age earlier then any other civ! its massively OP!

brits arent easy to use and theyre very dependant on hunts

Portugal can't be lamed but aside from their FF, they are the generic one boom or strategy fits all civ (only exception being villie cards and age 3 units) If you master ports in rush, most other civs will be easier to play.

Not to start a flame war or anything, but your totally wrong. Ports have the most OP FF in the game! Add Petard spamming its far more OP then Iro BB rush and India 10/10

Lol op ff? It may be op if you succeed easily, but its extremely fragile, as in theres a lot that can go wrong. In addition to the fact that your economy will be worst than pretty much any other civ that also ff's or even rushes you.

What i mean is once you FF without allowing enemy to FF, you will overpower enemy (even if they reach fortress) with units like cassador and organ guns. Then, you can pretty much stall to get a better eco(3 towncenters FTW)

no, it's far from OP in any way whatsoever. no eco, no military mass and the only up side is the far away prospect of one day having a strong eco. you won't get there. do not ff with ports.
