I've always assumed xbow + MM against standard jan rush. Jan abus I don't know, probably because I avoid playing against Ottos in 1v1.

Easily? I don't know. I just have a hard time believing that a 2nd lieutenant would have too much trouble with that.
Otto jan abus is arguably the best combo in the game, and there is actually no way to deal with it effectively ...

I'm a very modest master sergeant, but I decided to get a smurf and see how fast I'd really gain rank. Now I've heard it said on several occasions that you can get to pr25 by just laming Ottos. Is that true, or an exaggeration? If not, should I try it on this fresh account?
