To set your villagers to mellee you have to come close to the enemy units. There is no other way to make villagers punching.

Jerom:I like the morutaru because it is really fast in comparison to mortar (it doesn't have this set up animation thing) so it just moves and then shoots and moves again and shoots... Really big plus imo (especially because sometimes my mortars just have so much trouble getting in range of my opponents fb when I play TR). And only 3 pop.

Which of these is better. Id vote for morutaru because is more flexible and cost only 3 pop and you can boost their stats with daimyo aura. But mortars (especially portugal) have more range and damage so im not sure.

I think in 4 v 4 (rare play) it would be great if all your temmates had balloon card.
