xbow/Pike > Musk/huss early game
i tend to start musk/hus, but its not an autowin vs a dual musk spam. this can go in both directions.
but im more comfortable to win with musk/huss vs xbow/pike also in early game.

some time ago i played several 2v1 games vs seargents who were in the same clan. funny games in general. i think when they are 2 lieut+ you cant win anymore 2v1.

i would say in treaty 10 and 20 otto are pretty good!
in treaty 40 the training time of janis is a real handicap. if you play them for victory only dont take them, if you play for fun they are nice.

i dont like walls at all. especially because they are unlimited. but towers can be very helpful. dont think only defensiv. offensiv they can make fun. take for example tower rush of germans. try to place it in a hunt spot of the opponent.
other story is the use of towers on seamaps. it can defend your seaboom or it can destroy seaboom of your ...

villagers can fight the enemy explorer in melee and give you an advantage.
villagers can fight canon in melee when they have a good position. try it out.
you can add french cdb (upgrade them in market) to your army when you get rushed what gives you an advantage.
