Currently, Germany is probably the best civ. Spain recently got nerfed and most of their 3rd age military shipments are worse. However, like an above poster stated, Spain is useful for beginers due to their standard setup and gamepay. Ottoman is also handy because settlers are built for free, albeit slower.

Because Aztec stars with only one or two wood crates, I always seem to run out of wood when trying to build my second house and warhut while aging or upon reaching age II. This impairs either my unit production or both vil and unit. Any ideas for when to start gathering wood?
