The drivers are already updated... No, I am not upgrading to XP :)

Hey everybody,
I just built a new computer, and tried out Vanilla a few days ago. But, I get around 10 FPS, even with the graphics turned down to mostly low. Here are my system specs:
AMD Athlon 64X2 6000+ ~3.1GHz
EVGA 9800GTX+ SSC ~792MHz core clock, 1944MHz Shader Clock, 1152 Memory Clock
4GB Mushkin DDR2
Vista ...

To change the graphics:
Main Menu>Help and Tools>Options>Graphics

Plus it's only $10 for vanilla. $10 isn't worth it to get caught and fined for software piracy.

Have you updated your game recently? From the main menu, Help and Tools> Update game.

When you play LAN, you have to make a new home city, you cannot use your multiplayer home cities, and vice versa.
LAN uses home cities created in single player, however.

What kind of error message are you getting when you try to play online?

The Asian Dynasties is an expansion pack for Age of Empires 3. So you cannot run TAD without having Age of Empires 3. When you buy TAD you do not get content from TWC (The War Chiefs) expansion pack. However, you can probably pick up the gold edition (which has AoE3, and both expansion packs) for $30-$40, I'm not sure ...
