I would suggest to incorporate envoys (when you're Dutch) into your strategy more often. They are extremely cheap and fairly fast to send across the map. Keep them constantly running through the enemy base and if he spends time chasing them, then you are wasting time for his military to attack you.

Your welcome. That really was a big thing to overcome for me...........organization of villagers. But once I forced myself to make all the villagers as possible, I was amazed by the difference in military capabilities. Good Luck!

Combined 20 Doppelsoldner and 20 War Wagon forces is 100 military pop and 40 soldiers against 40 cuirassiers. Build one or two separate mills from your food gathering mills to build the settler wagons. Then you can see who is idle and immediatley send them to gathering resources. After all, mills only cost 400 wood.
