Yep, wood is the most used resource, almost everything costs a share of wood. What I do with every civ that I play, is during Age 1, I make 3 Woodcutters (5 if I play otto). Ok I think your art1.bar file is corrupt or ruined. DO NOT UNISTALL the game, that will be a total loss, because you cant download it again if theres a corrupt file. Right after the movie finishes loading, press your Space Bar to skip it.

I use portugese as my main civ. However I dont use xbowmen, cassadores, or jinetes that often. My main division that I always have is made up of Guirrero Musketeers, halberdiers and organ guns, and as for my other divisions, it depends who the opponent is. Hmmm, Try reinstalling the originial AoE 3 Game (vanilla), you might have a corrupt file on the CD, or your computer can't access it. Also, when you installed the Asian Dynasties CD (the new one you just got) did it ask you for the product key?
