Russians are awesome at rushing, have a cheap army, and have a lot of cool attributes. (Musketeers building forts + Strelets becoming Musketeers = Totally awesome!)
The entire reason for Russia's being in the game is that they have weak units in large numbers! Of course Russian units suck individually. (Except some cavalry and artillery.) That's ...

I have played the Germans since I first started this game, and I'm telling you now that the first thing you need is patience. The Germans can be a little difficult for some people to get used to (myself included) but they are well worth the trouble.
Basically, here it is:
1. The Pros: Strong economy in later ages, tough military in ...

1. Ottoman (Possibly the most widely used rush in the game is the Classic Janissary Rush.)
2. China (Not very good with this civ, but they get heavy artillery in Age 2, and are un-rushable themselves; which makes good recipes for a rush. Oh, and their units are CHEAP!)
3. Indians (Again this is from heresay, but the Indians are supposed ...

The Dutch don't exactly have an economy boom to speak of. With them, you'll want to max out all your villies (since they only get 50) and build tons of banks. Basically, you want a very strong gold eco to later spend on Ruyters, Hallies, and Artillery.
The Port boom is quite simple: Never stop making Villagers; not for one instant. Use your ...

50 Elmeti.
104 Imp Redcoats and 12 heavy cannon.
66 Fusiliers with German merc upgrade card and 1 Dopp.
Yeah. Pretty much the best armies yet...

I'm guessing Solingen Steel, but I could be wrong. I don'tplay every civ, so I don't know all the cards.
Question: This HC card has an awesome name and increases a multiplier vs. LI. What is it?

Why is it impossible to raid them? If you have to, you could even send a few villies to take out their herdables near the shrines.
Does an Otto rush take them down, or do they rush faster than that?
Edit: Also, wouldn't British LB's or French or Dutch skirms take out those Ashigarus they rush with?

I don't see what all the hype is about. I find them to be very tough to master due to their high army cost and slow speed. It would seem to me that most Euro civs should be able to beat them simply because of their lack of advanced gunpowder units.
Also, do you think Japan is a better pick over...say...Germany? I have been using the Germans for ...

This strategy is just way too risky. What if he sends the 5 Subs card or counters with a few Peanut-Butter Sandwiches? IMO a FF with the 3 Hamburger card as soon as you hit Age 27 would result in fewer squashed bananas.

China loses vs. nothing. Changdaos and pikes take out heavy cavalry, so that's a point there. Besides, flamethrowers are a better investment than Flying crows. Speed, and cost.
