take a look at this thread http://forum.agecommunity.com/forums/post/728472.aspx helped me fix my problem. if u get failed to join reboot ur game and it should fix also.
and if u have a router forward ur ports http://portforward.com/ (look for age of empires 3 then your router)

sexygal:if yr cd has got a scratch and not reading try the xcopy command from kb article 259496 from microsoft. If the disc is really corrupt, then email to microsoft about it and they would do the needful
kill send a picture of it to microsoft(scratch is really deep). any1 know the correct email to send it to?

i doubt a cd key repair kit will fix it. its a huge gash that is the length of half the cd

My TAD cd got scratched and my computer wont read it anymore so i cant launch aoe. Is there anyway microsoft can mail me a replacement CD?
