• Re: Natives thread

deadhanddan:natives r very op for a few good reasons including eco techs, army techs etc. but best natives ive seen would be sufi natives and thier war elephants which r very cheap (200 food 80 wood) chakrams which r very nice vs buildings and massed infantry(50 food 100 wood) but these natives r only found on deccan and silkroad.for american ...

  • Natives thread

Let's talk about natives. (The TP ones, not Sioux/Aztec/Iro) atm, the only usage I see of natives in most games is to buff an army once you've hit your population cap. However, I just played a game where the cree were on the map. I was China and they honestly saved me in that game. I used the cree coureurs to help boost my economy in the ...

  • Re: Tips 'n' Tricks

Some tips for Iro (mainly involving the fire pit) In most team games that go past colonial for both sides, you'll have to at some stage make the shift from mines to plantations. I find the best thing to do here is to put ten or so villagers on the fire pit and spawn travois' to make plantations, but there are other dances to do while you're ...

  • 'Laming' Japan and India

I always wondered what the difference was between laming an OP civ and just playing them. Today I played an India player who set up an agra fort near my base and came in with a bunch of sepoys and ghurkas. (is this called the 10/10 rush now?) I held the attack like I would from any other civ and when I hit fortress, I crushed him. He didn't ...

  • Re: The end of treaty?

I find that treaty is only good for experience and people who enjoy big battles. The only science I see in treaty is getting your eco going and maxed out before the other player/team and then finding a way to break the inevitable stalemate that will come when you start spamming units at each other.

  • Re: the use of Gredaniers

The only time I've ever seen them used well is when they're mixed in with plenty of British muskets, using a colour where it's hard to tell the two units apart.

  • Re: My self-restricted civs.

I wouldn't worry about it. If your opponent cares that much, they can go Japan themselves.

  • Re: how real life affect your gameplay?

In real life, I go against the grain 90% of the time. I think this is reflected in the civs I choose. Pre-patch I played India and Ottoman. I didn't know how many people played India before I started, so I chose them because I liked elephants. (I'm also quite simple IRL) I picked Ottoman because hardly anybody played as them. Post-patch, I've ...

  • Re: Another Wilson rant.

I agree. Part of me wants to learn India/Japan so I can always challenge people like that to rematches using the unbalanced civs and naturally giving them a taste of their own medicine if I win.

  • Re: Iros warchieft

Since reading this topic, I've had a go with the card, and it really isn't that special or gamebreaking. (at least not in team games)
