what you want to do in treaty is have all the recource cards that affect mills plantations and wood gathering rates along with all the military cards for inf and cav with cav and inf trainging and advanced arsenal. dont spam gendarmes use voltigeurs too. they are amazing wikth french

viking_spirit: And chu ko nu's are really OP. It says that they do 5 damage, but that's not true, they do 15 damage because they shoot 3 arrows at once.
all arrow firing units have a chance to miss with an arrow and from what ive seen this can be quite often. cho ko nu's sometimes dont hit with all 3 arrows

go dutch and do a 3bank ff with some skirms. once age 3 2 falcs and ryuters to back up skirms

first of all make sure your firewall isn't blocking the age of empires game from connecting by adding aoe3 to the allowed programs or accepted programs or something along the line of that

Vs french you should be able to hold off a gendarme spam long enough with halbs and goons. although french = better eco they cant constant gendarme spam. if you keep the fight close to your base/choke point then you get advantage since range beats melee in tight spots. i played a 1v1 treaty on sonara a few days ago i was ports enemy was french. do you mean lameciv or lameciv instead? anyway - french have better eco and better units. lame gendarmes all you want to win. no skill. tartar loyalists train too slow to be truly effective and they have no RR so mix in a few skirms to win

it is better to put them in melee mode when vs heavy cav. if they are in volley mode and a hussar is next to a musketeer but is attacking another one, that musketeer may shoot at another hussar further away when it could go in melee mode and kill the husars faster. if you dont put them in melee mode then its stupid. melee mode move your musks ...
