Maropolo: Machiavelli+:Personally I would like an AoMII.
I personally don't think that a chronological sequel for AOM would work. If you use the same pattern as Age of Empires and make it an AD time period, there would hardly be any ''mythology'' left.
However, It would be quite interesting for Microsoft to make another expansion to ...

Jerom:It is not just an assumpion. Its logical reasoning based on probably more than 4000 hours of experience in competitive RTS gaming. If you want I can explain why I think the ideas of the OP are going to result into overly defensive games, but otherwise im not going to waste too much time on that.
Please do explain. I think that, if we can ...

Jerom:The point you are missing is that one player can play defensive, while the other player is aggresive.
It is not a point that I have missed. It is a point that is irrelevant.
Jerom:However if both players play defensive and dont attack or anything its really boring honestly,

Jerom:Defensive play is ok. Two players doing nothing at all being defensive all game long is boring.
The latter is the result of his ideas.
Boring to you.
Personally, I think your conception of the matter is a tad oxymoronic. If they're being defensive, they're clearly not doing ''nothing at all''. In any case, though, there's no ...

We never got to see Africa or wars in Europe in AoEIII, didn't see as much of Asia as we could have. I think a return to a more global scale ...

Jerom:But like... thats not how age of empires is played u know.
Aoe is made for fast gameplay where both people attack early and stuff.... What you want is long games that are boring in the eyes of many people... every game in the aoe series is not close to what u want u know....
For example, when the maps get really big the gameplay gets ...

Of course, I go on at 0930 hours GMT and see that.

You can name them, yeah, but I've never seen citybuilding or RP. Game has built-in no-rush in the form of Treaty game-modes.

While it would be nice to say ''yes'', almost the entirety of the online communtiy for AoEIII thinks that the purpose of games is to memorise build orders and then bang your face on the hotkeys as fast as you can until you win.
But try hosting something like that, and maybe some of those who aren't braindead/obsessed with winning will play.
