My advice is be a different civ and get skilled instead of using Japan. I like them but they are way to overpowered.

One of the worst fast rushes, anyway. Jap Shrine Booms, FF's and Good Faith Shipment Spam's are what you should watch out ...

It's effectively a suicide button. Set Uhlans into trample mode against Bolas warriors and watch the carnage.

Yeah, but Sepoy's dont have 38 hand attack and 6.75 speed, yet.
Uhlans are generally better in sup just because the average German player will have more Uhlans than a Russian would have Cossacks (in terms of attack/HP, so probably 3 Uhlans to 4 Cossacks) because of shipments and a better eco early on to set up stables if need be. In longer games ...
