wait a sec, does it matter that villagers move in the mils to collect resources? so would it be better if we had only 7 villagers in a mill? what about the asians, do they bump on each other on the rice paddies? this the first time i've heard this.

No I think they shouldn't. Some civs like the british must be taken care off quickly before they can boom too much. That's y some civs prefer rushing, to prevent that from happening, but they get weaker eco. In my opinion that's how the game balances out.

In Carolina and Hispaniola you start with extra resources. But I don't know if there is a warchief map where you start with more resources.
