• Re: LOTR RTS?

I played both BFME games several years ago. The overall gameplay has more similarity to AOM than other AOE games, with heroes and ''god'' powers. The first one is very different than AOE, because you have specified build plots. They are definitely slower than AOE, especially in APM early on since you don't have nearly as much econ micro. Only the ...

  • Re: Playing in 256 colors?

right. I was simplifying how multiple cores run on a computer. Programs have to be written to use multiple cores, but pretty much all substantial programs in the last 8 years (shorter for 4 cores) can use them.

  • Re: Playing in 256 colors?

Metis is correct, Musketeer got his numbers wrong. And the game is going to look awful if you do manage to get it to run 256 colors. So many things in that game rely on the several thousand additional colors 16 bits provides (and looks better with the 4 billion of 32 bit). As far as the processor, a 1.6 ghz quad core at peak capacity would ...

  • Re: Sustainable Eco for Treaty

You should also be sending the unique church card. It's an improvement any time you have more than ~30% vill on mills, which is all the time given the food/coin cost of cassadores.

  • Re: Russians with map control

Don't let whatever else Stefan said about Kazansky affect how you read his info. Breaking half map is rude and a terrible habit to get into. And don't spam the lancers, only waiting until they lose to adjust. Anticipate how that would lose and build the units needed to fix the problem at the start. Vs russian that means skirms, a few rods (but you ...

  • Re: Iroquois or Ottomans

Spain has 2 factories in TWC. It's the smokestack thing under the first one. They added factories to civs that only had one, but used a different image for some reason. I played dutch when I was learning. Boom is less forgiving than other civs, but overall the eco drop doesn't hurt too much below master searg. You'll pick up other civs pretty ...

  • Re: Warchiefs Multiplayer game

Is this on ESO or LAN? On ESO, make sure you set the filter (button near the top) to show games with warchiefs civs and maps, games with the arrowhead icon on them will let you play as native civs. If you host a game, make sure allow warchiefs civs and maps is highlighted when you make the game, and you need to do the same thing when making the ...

  • Re: Best way to win a treaty 40min game no blockade as Japanese

Ignore willie, consulate musks should never be used as Japan. Also don't use the export trade for hatamotos. It could be fun if he makes only gendarmes, but you'll lose if he starts making anything else. You need to get the dutch ally at some point during treaty, and get the church (along with bank and arsenal) from them so you can buy the ...
